Tranquoizier Sober thoughts of morning's tides, bring to all a brand new stride. Lost forever amid the clouds the dreams awaken now. Letting go of feelings old may begin the thoughts untold. Times of rushed deeds begin, clinging to sadness again. Misunderstandings cause the pain. Help me 'fore I go insane. Haven't got the time to mend. Just fly off to future again. Foggy judgment of the night causes truth and causes fright. Happiness just can't hold on during the echoes of the song. To fix the mistakes of the silence just may guard from all the violence. Delusions of the old and new bring a world of few. Static reigns the confusion, but it just could be illusion. To return was an idea. To think about it causes fear.
This is a throwback poem from a previously published book. I’ll be posting throwbacks every Wednesday.
The title of this poem “Tranquoizier” was the result of a late night chat session with some online friends when I tried to type tranquilizer, so I decided it was a new word that meant a floaty, happy, glide along with life feeling.
Fun fact: I also reused this term as a band name when I was playing around with Garage Band loops and decided to put some electronic music on Myspace for fun in 2006. You can download the whole thing free from n1m: www.n1m.com/tranquoizier
