Faded Family Photographs Old pictures. Old pictures of people. Which side of what family? People together. People together outside. People crowded downtown. Old black and white shots. Old black and white photos of your good suit. Old snaps of men in cowboy boots. We used to hold them. The photos. The photos were real. We used to hold them. The people. The people were real. We hold onto our photos, hold onto hope, that we'll move beyond mourning and heal.
This is a throwback poem from a previously published book. I’ll be posting throwbacks every Wednesday.
